JD Power & Associates have released their annual vehicle dependability survey ("VDS") results. Each year they survey owners of three-year-old vehicles seeking their reports on the types of problems they’ve experienced with their vehicle during the preceding 12 months. The 2008 VDS results are based on survey responses from over 52,000 original owners of 2005 model-year vehicles. According to the 2008 VDS, the overall quality of three-year-old vehicles improved by five percent, compared to last year, continuing a trend of three-year-old vehicle quality improvement over the last six years
