Global's Fall schedule announced

Canwest announced Global's new fall schedule earlier this week. Their new prime time series acquisitions focused on well-know names. They have secured NCIS spin-off series NCIS: Los Angeles (to be simulcast with CBS) and animated Family Guy spin-off series The Cleveland Show (to be simulcast with FOX). The have also purchased Melrose Place, a series name familiar to 90-s Tv viewers. Also they have acquired a new drama "The Good Wife". Among the riskier acquisitions are the FOX musical comedy "Glee", whose ratings disappointed in a special post American Idol preview timeslot airing last month.

Returning established series include:

"House" (Season 6) ,
"Lie to Me"(Season 2),
"NCIS" (Season 7),
"Bones"(Season 5),
"The Office"(Season 6),
"Survivor: Samoa" (Season 19),
"Heroes"(Season 4) ,
"Brothers & Sisters"(Season 4) ,
"Family Guy"(Season 10),
"King of the Hill" (Season 13),
"American Dad" (Season 6),
"The Simpsons"(Season 21),
"Numb3rs" (Season 6)
"Dollhouse" (Season 2) .

Canwest did not announce anything with respect to troubled secondary network E!'s fall schedule. CITY TV earlier announced that they had successfully conducted a raid on many series previously airing on that network. Canwest operates "E!" stations in Victoria, Kelowna, Red Deer, Hamilton and Montreal. There have been rumours of some interested buyers for the Hamilton station but its possible the mini-network could close down by Fall.
